Chief Financial Officer

Brian Callaway is the Chief Financial Officer at Copia, where he leads finance, including sourcing capital at the corporate and project level as well as operations. Brian is passionate about the renewables space and believes that a sponsor’s strength in finance is a key strategic advantage in this high-growth, capital-intense industry. Prior to joining Copia, Brian was the CFO at Arevon, a leading, national renewables IPP and development platform with over $12 billion in assets under management and a 4GW operating portfolio as of 2023.  Before that, Brian led the Structured Finance and M&A teams at sPower. Growing sPower from just under $1 billion on balance sheet to more than $5 billion and more than 2 GW of operating assets by raising $7 billion of innovatively structured third-party capital across all parts of the capital stack. He also drove the acquisition of more than 1 GW of renewable assets for sPower, including storage, wind and solar. Brian began his career at NRG Renew (now Clearway Energy Group), where he was a key contributor on the startup Commercial Execution team and worked broadly across M&A, project finance, and development efforts to help create one of the premier IPPs in the space.

Brian holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from San Diego State University.
