Gerrard Bushell

Gerrard P. Bushell, Ph.D. is Chair of the Carlyle Airport Group, where he has overseen major infrastructure projects since 2019, including leading the New Terminal One development at JFK Airport—the largest airport terminal investment in U.S. history. Before joining Carlyle, he served as President & CEO of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), managing a $6 billion construction portfolio and $38 billion in municipal bond issuance for public projects across New York State.
Bushell’s extensive career includes senior investment roles at BNY Mellon, KKR, Arden Asset Management, and Legg Mason’s ClearBridge Advisors.
Academically, Dr. Bushell is an adjunct professor at Columbia University. He also serves as a trustee for several major civic and cultural institutions.
He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Urban Political Economy from Columbia University.
