Katie Heath
General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer
Katie Heath is the General Counsel and Chief Risk Officer at Copia Power where she leads legal strategy and operations, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, title curative, and enterprise risk management, ensuring Copia's resilience in a rapidly evolving energy and technology landscape. Katie has extensive experience in advising on multi-billion-dollar financing transactions, energy asset strategy and development, as well as aligning risk frameworks with long-term growth objectives.
Prior to joining Copia, Katie was the Vice President of Strategic Development at AES Clean Energy (formerly sPower) where she was responsible for formation of development strategy, market intelligence, pipeline creation, strategic partnerships, and land acquisition. Under Katie's leadership, over 15 GW of new power generation projects were added to the development pipeline.
Katie also served as Vice President of Business Development at Heelstone Energy where she originated project acquisitions and formulated and executed a greenfield development strategy for the creation of utility scale generation projects across the United States. Katie began her career in energy as counsel for project developers where she represented clients in tax equity and debt financing, energy market transactions, and regulatory matters.
Katie holds a J.D from the Wake Forest University School of Law, where she serves as an adjunct professor of Energy Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina. She is licensed to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina, and before the Supreme Court of the United States.
