Tony Archibald
Chief Operating Officer
Tony Archibald is the Chief Operating Officer at Copia Power, where he leads EPC, Asset Management, and O&M for the generation portfolio and digital infrastructure portfolio.
Tony has led teams in industrial engineering and construction for over 20 years. He cut his teeth as an apprentice electrician later moving into engineering and project management and ultimately leading engineering and construction teams. His primary focus has been heavy industrial engineering and construction with emphasis in renewable energy generation where he led an EPC contractor in utility scale and commercial solar projects and later joined AES Clean Energy (formerly sPower) as Vice President of Engineering and Construction. Tony has successfully negotiated and executed engineering-procurement-construction contracts from both the owner and EPC side of the table for over 3 GW of renewable energy.
Tony's teams have been instrumental in improving the operation and maintenance of projects through performance engineering, warranty management, and preventative maintenance planning. His experience includes leading teams in design and project engineering, project cost estimating and schedule development, procurement of major equipment, maintaining vendor/supplier relations, contract negotiation, Project and Construction Management, policy and international trade related to procurement of project material and equipment, and operations and maintenance of facilities.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah and holds a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University, Shreveport. Tony is licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Utah and holds multiple state master electrician licenses.
